Farshid
Arman, Ph.D.
Dr. Farshid Arman is the Director of Venture Technology at Siemens
Technology-to-Business Center, seed-stage investment arm of Siemens,
AG. In this capacity Dr. Arman is responsible for investments, management,
and subsequent VC financing of early-stage start ups.
Most
recently, Dr. Arman had business and technical consulting engagements
with CNN (Atlanta) and with Samsung (Seoul). Previously, Dr. Arman
was the Executive Director of Engineering at Ascential Software's
Media Business Unit (formerly Informix Software) where he was responsible
for architecture, development, and testing of enterprise-class software
used by many of world's largest media companies.
Dr.
Farshid Arman holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Texas at Austin.
Aubrey L. Helms, Jr., Ph.D.
Dr. Aubrey L. Helms, Jr. is President and CEO of Tiger Venture Analysis
Inc. He has over 19 years of experience in technology development,
engineering management, new product development, IP management,
mergers and acquisitions and Strategic Business Planning.
He
is the author of over 30 publications and an inventor on 6 patents.
He balances the excitement of emerging technology with real-world
practical experience.
Dr.
Aubrey L. Helms, Jr. holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University.
Chris Leinen
Mr.
Chris Leinen brings over 30 years experience in starting successful
companies serving the energy industry. He was the founder and CEO
of Final Control Elements, Inc., a manufacturer of high capacity,
severe service control valves, that grew quickly into an international
company before being acquired by Halliburton Industries.
He
is a prolific inventor with several US and international patents
for high reliability - severe service fluid flow applications. Prior
to Final Control Elements, Chris was CEO and president of Flo-Trol,
Inc., a manufacturer's representative company serving the energy
industry.
Mr. Chris Leinen has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California
State School at Chico, and a MBA from the University of Houston.
Franklin P. Newburn
Mr.
Franklin P. Newburn has served in numerous management capacities
in the industrial controls market during the past 30 years. Mr.
Franklin P. Newburn recently retired from Omron Electronics LLC,
a global manufacturer of industrial controls and electronic control
components having served Omron for the past 20 years, most recently
as President and co-CEO of its America's operation. In addition,
Mr. Franklin P. Newburn served as CEO of Omron's wholly owned subsidiary,
OIDM, a manufacturer of control equipment used in the drilling industry.
Mr. Franklin P. Newburn is a graduate of Augustana College with
A BA degree in Business and Economics.
