Now on duty, The GuardDog watches over two high-throughput fueling operations at Travis. In a move to modernize this elite facility and to control valuable fuel resources more effectively, the Department of Defense (DOD) gave SpillGuard the green light to install the proven spill prevention systems at Travis AFB.
The decision to install SpillGuard's GuardDog system at the facility falls in line with the Office of the Secretary of Defense's (OSD) mandate that all capitalized fuel facilities must be modernized by the year 2010. Travis AFB is now being protected by the GuardDog against human error and equipment failure at the fuel transfer operation. The GuardDog's breakthrough technology dynamically monitors and analyzes the entire fuel transfer operation, including overfill detection, static ground connections, and utilizes Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to positively identify each vehicle loaded to prevent fuel cross-contamination.
